BAIYOK BUILDINGS

Location: Pratunam, Thanon Rajaprarop,
Rajathevee District
Baiyok is made up of 2 main build-
ings—the 43-floor Baiyok I and 85-floor Baiyok
II standing 304 meters or 994 feet high as the
tallest building in Thailand. Baiyok I is where 4-
star hotel Baiyok Suite located while Baiyok II
has Baiyo Sky starting from Floor 18 with two
viewpoints on Floor 77 and 84 as its highlight.

ARTILLERY MUSEUM

Location: Defense Ministry, Thanon Sanam Chai by the
Emerald Buddha Temple
The white European buildings that lie along the road are the Defense Ministry, the front and the sides of which are made into an outdoor museum displaying 40 classic artilleries in sets according to their ages ranging from Ayuthaya, Thonburi and Rattanakosin with signs telling names and histories. Also exhibited here are French-made cannons. Open daily with no admission fees. Inquiry: Call 022263814.

ANANDA SAMAKOM THRONE HALL

Location: Thanon U-thong Nai, Dusit District in the rear of King Rama V Equestrian Statue near Ambhorn Park
Originally was a state-room to accommo date the royal visitors of Dusit Palace with the same name as one of the throne halls in the Grand Palace, Ananda Samakom is used for royal ceremonies and state events. Outstand- ing is its classical dome in the middle with 6 surrounding domes in decorations. On the ceiling are the exquisite paintings depicting Rattanakqsin’s King Rama I -VI.
